Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 28 – Outgoing US Ambassador to Cambodia William A. Heidt acknowledged Cambodian economics growth speaking in a farewell call to Cambodian Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance on Wednesday.

Ambassador Heidt highly commended the non-stop robust economic growth of Cambodia, which derived from the efforts and clear goals of the Royal Government.

He also highlighted the US’s willingness to boost the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia in developing infrastructure, promoting and expanding entrepreneurship of young women in the business, economy and society; promoting ethics, women and gender equality, as well as the country's readiness for the new-era digital economy and information technology system.

Ambassador expressed his profound appreciation to Cambodia's relevant ministries and institutions, especially the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which provided excellent cooperation and facilitation of the working environment within three years of his diplomatic missions in Cambodia.

Minister Aun Pornmoniroth expressed his appreciation for the achievements made by the Ambassador Heidt in his three-year mandate, which Cambodia-US bilateral cooperation have improved, especially in the economy and trade sectors that contributed largely to the development of Cambodia.

He said that Cambodia welcomed and supported all initiatives of all development partners, including the United States that brought about the prosperity of the people.

Aun Pornmoniroth wishes William Heidt a success in his new role and affirmed that the Ministry of Economy and Finance will maintain good relations with the new US Ambassador.
