JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces crackdowns against Islamic State (IS) group have led to the elimination of at least 30 insurgents in Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province over the past 24 hours, provincial government spokesman Attaullah Khogiani said Tuesday.

The government forces, according to the official, have pounded IS hideouts in Abdul Khalil, Mianji, Qabristan Bagh and other parts of Achin district over the past 24 hours, killing at least 30 insurgents and wounding two others.

Islamic State militants who are active in parts of Nangarhar province have yet to make comment on the report.
