MUMBAI, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- The statue of the principal architect of the Indian Constitution will be installed inside the Indu Mills at Dadar in Mumbai.

The 251-meter-tall Babasaheb Ambedkar's statue is designed to be put on a 100-meter platform, making the landmark at a total height of 350 meters, according to the Free Press Journal report on Monday.

A review meeting for the memorial has been held in Mumbai and the final cost of the project will be 104.35 million U.S. dollars, the report said.

Coming from a backward family, Ambedkar was the first Dalit in India who graduated from the London School of Economics.

Moreover, he was a social reformer, who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination towards the untouchables, and supported the rights of women and labor. He was regarded a founding father of the Republic of India.
