Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 26 – The plenary session of the Council of Ministers held on Friday, chaired by Prime Minister Hun Sen, decided to pass the draft budget law 2019 and 2017 state budget expenditure, according to government’s spokesman Phay Siphan.

The meeting also decided to request for approval for ratifications from the legislature on: (a) Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Income Tax Breaks between Cambodia-Vietnam and Cambodia-Indonesia, and (b) Cambodia-Russian Extradition Treaty.

The government’s spokesman added that Budget Law 2019 was organized and allocated to support the achievement of the key goals of the political agenda of the sixth legislature and Rectangular Strategy - Phase IV of the Royal Government in order to maintain peace, stability, and ensure Cambodia's sustainable development.

The priorities of development include human resource, physical infrastructure, agriculture, education system, quality of healthcare and social protection systems, particularly deep reforms to support resilient economic growth and ensure social equity and inclusiveness in order to achieve Cambodia’s vision of "a higher middle income country by 2030".
