London, England (FN), Oct. 12 – Sar Kheng, Cambodian Minister of the Interior, said in the 4th Illegal Wildlife Trade Conference in London, England on Friday that Cambodia prohibits illegal wildlife trade and there is no demands for wildlife products in daily use.

Addressing to representatives from more than 80 countries, including president, prime minister, ministers, senior officials of civil society and private sector officials, Sar Kheng also emphasized that today's global trend has also moved Cambodia into a transit country for the criminals to trade illegal wildlife products.

He added that illegal wildlife trade not only brought disaster to the environmental sustainability and natural resources of the planet, but the money obtained from the crimes also led to the creation of numerous complex issues in society and in the world, particularly resulted in money laundering, terrorism, human, drugs and arms trafficking.

The mechanisms the Royal Government formulated includes law amendments and enforcement, strengthen capacity and cooperation of inter-institutions, and raise awareness on negative impacts of illegal wildlife trade.
