TEHRAN, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- At least 24 people were killed in a terror attack in a military parade in the southern Iranian Ahvaz city on Saturday, official IRNA news agency reported.

Among the killed, there were military forces and citizens who had gathered to watch the military parade, the report said.

Also, over 50 people were injured in the attack, IRNA said.

On Saturday morning, four armed men clad in the uniform of Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) attacked the military parade in Ahvaz city which marked the anniversary of Iran-Iraq war in 1980-1988.

Two of the militants were killed and two others were arrested.

Al-Ahvazieh, an Iranian Arab-affiliated group, has accepted the terror attack on Saturday, claiming that it is fighting for the rights of the Iranian Arabs in the southern Khuzestan province.

Iran considers the Al-Ahvazieh as the separatist and terrorist group supported by Saudi Arabia.
