Phnom Penh (FN), May 12 – The Ministry of Environment (MoE) has submitted to the Ministry of Land, Urban Planning and Construction to register a total of 41 existing and new protected forests as state’s properties, a senior official of MoE’s told the press today, May 12, 2016.

The proposal was submitted after the Royal Government of Cambodia signed a Sub-decree on the Establishment of 18 Protected Forests under the management and conservation of the Ministry of Environment

Currently, the Ministry of Environment has under its control 41 protected forests, covering approximately 5.8 million hectares.
